few tips for car modelers (for beginners)
well i thought of sharing my experience of modeling cars well i'm not a expert so this is for beginners
step 1
well first you must find a good blueprint and some good reference photos of the car that you are gonna create because just a blue print is not enough .
step 2
setting the blueprints
after that set up your blueprints well in maya you can use image planes and in softimage you can use retroscope or use a plane and set the width and height according to the resolution of the blue prints.As a example if the side blueprint resolution is 200*300 set the plane hight and width to 200 and 300
step 3
making a start
well its kind of tricky to get a proper start well there are various methods i have found reading lots of tutorials
method 1
staring with plane and cloning the edges to get the basic shape and adding detail.
method 2
using spline or nurbs to get a basic shape of the car and converting them to polys and adding deatails
well i'll add some more details about given methods and some exaples but for now i will give some basic tips
And them comes the hard part modeling
when modeling always try to model polygons in quads (four sided polys) because its easy when smoothing and less erros in smoothing
And always try to have even area of polys or i mean even ploy surface beacause its helps you to have smooth surface and its easy to modify what you have made.
And the most important modeling tip is always try to start with few polys and try to refine it because if you start in hi res it will be very hard to adujst your mistakes
well for now i;ll stop right here but i will post some more tips and some examples later until then happy modeling ohh and if you have any comments or problems just leave a comment.

well when i was surfing the net i found a great site with free vray tutorials it includes some tutorials for beginner vray users regarding materials and vray render testing if you are kind new to vray this is the site is a must to see.ohhh and i forgot there's also some photoshop,rhino tutorials hdri images free textures and 3d models.
